Pets are members of the family. Just like a baby monitor, you might one day want some virtual protection so you can check on them. Or who knows, maybe you just need some emotional support, and seeing their furry face will help get you through the day! The SpotCam Mimbo can give you a 360-degree view and let your pet hear your voice when they get lonely!

Editorial Disclaimer:

We reached out to SpotCam to see if we could get a pet camera to review, and they were excited about the opportunity to show off their camera equipment. SpotCam provided us with their “SpotCam Mibo” in exchange for an open and honest review of their product.

Are Pet Cams a Good Idea?

Pet Cameras can be a great addition to your home. They can record your fur baby being silly when no one is around to see them. They can take heartwarming photos, and they can live stream your house while you’re away. The best part is that the pet cam Mibo rotates 360 degrees and can move up and down.

It’s great for tracking cats who jump up on counters, or dogs who love to run around the yard. (Or keep track of who got their paws into the treat jar.) Pet Cams are also a great way just to monitor your house while you are away. You could set it up where it could see the front or back door, or somewhere high up where you could have a bird’s eye view.

Product Overview, and First Impressions

SpotCam sends fun detachable antlers with their cameras. They also send a magnetic base, a wall mount, and a flexible cable stand. Setting it up was astonishingly easy, and the app was easy to download. The app is set up so you can move the camera around with your finger while swiping.

If you want to talk to your pet, (or whoever is on camera) there is a little microphone button you press. The camera also has a built-in microphone, so you can hear everything going on around it. Some of the best pictures you get from this are the ones of your pet hearing your voice when you are not around.

l Built-in pet tracking

l Free forever 24-hour fulltime cloud recording (the one and only in the market)

The other feature this camera has that I love is that it has a night vision mode. A high-quality night vision mode at that!

Public Cam Mode

At first, I was confused why this camera would offer a “public camera view.” However, if you look at public cameras on the app, you will see that a lot of event venues use this. So if you are someone who manages a wedding venue, (or having a public event) this can be a great way for friends and family to easily tune in!

Some drawbacks to the PetCam Mibo

PetCam Mibo offers a subscription service. While it comes with many upgrades, one of the upgrades it comes with is letting you record your pets. Different subscription levels depend on how much you can record every day.

Verdict: Overall a Surprisingly Versatile Product!

The camera is marketed as a pet camera, however its versatility blows me away. Many pet cameras you buy don’t have a built-in microphone and speaker. Also the night vision mode blows me away with how high quality it is. I thought it was easy to download the app, and set up.

When I got this product I couldn’t ever imagine having more than one, but now I am very interested in maybe having another for outside my home. If you like things that make your home a smart home, you definitely need to invest in the PetCam Mibo.
