National Dog Day is a holiday that was founded in 2004 with the pure goal of celebrating all dogs on Earth, of every breed, every mix, every color, and every size.
This holiday, National Dog Day, was founded by Colleen Paige, a Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert and Animal Advocate. Colleen Paige is also the founder of some other holidays you might have heard, like National Puppy Day, National Cat Day and National Mutt Day.
This holiday is celebrated to educate the public of the pureness of dogs, of all the benefits there are of having a dog, how can dogs make your life better and, of course, the people working tirelessly to help all dogs in need, like rescuers, foster families and of course veterinary professionals.
The founder of this holiday wants to send a clear message that the holiday is against breed banning. She strongly feels that no dog has to suffer for the greed of man and strongly advise against buying dogs from pet stores and puppy mills.
