K9 Sport Sack – Indoor & Outdoor Pop-up Travel Dog Tent

4 stars- ★★★★ Safest Tent

First on our list is the K9 Sports Sack Indoor & Outdoor travel dog tent. It’s lightweight, and space-saving features are essential when camping. Considering most, if not all your gear, is on your back.

It has both great ventilation and UV protection from hot summer days when your dog needs it most. This feature is especially important in order to keep our k9 companions cool. It fits small and medium dogs and can be rigged and disassembled in seconds.

Features we love:

  • It folds up quick
  • Lightweight
  • It comes with its own carrying bag
  • No assembly required
  • UV protection that keeps harmful rays away from our dogs
  • Ventilation to prevent heat exhaustion

Features we aren’t so crazy about:

  • Only for small dogs and pets
  • Thin and flimsy fabric
  • The zipper can be a potential choking hazard
  • Pricey for what you’re getting

Petsfit Portable Pop Up Pet Cage

3 stars- ★★★ Most Convenient size

Next up on our list is the Petsfit Portable Pop up Pet Cage. Acting more like a kennel, it is soft, durable, and functional for your pets. It’s suitable for on the go, as well as stationary. It has three entries, and it is well ventilated with windows. This feature is vital for those hot camping days.

Features we love:

  • Waterproof

  • Well ventilated
  • The small size makes it convenient

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • It fits dogs only up to 25 pounds
  • Wire can bend
  • Multiple entries can encourage escape artists
  • Soft sides aren’t right for dogs who like to chew

OLizee Breathable Washable Pet Puppy Kennel

4 stars- ★★★★ Best breathable material

If you’re looking for a mini tent for your dog, then the OLizze Pet Kennel is for you. It’s legitimately a tent shrunken down for your dog. Its roomy inside and the sturdy frame makes it ideal for long camping trips.

Features we love:

  • Wide doorway
  • Collapsible
  • Oxford cloth mesh – breathable for pets

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • Design has fiberglass
  • Fabric can easily rip with assembly
  • Only for small dogs
  • Pops up quick can cause injury to anyone standing nearby

Multifun UPF 50+ Easy Pop Up Beach Tent

3 stars- ★★★ Best sun protection

The Multifun Easy Pop Up Tent is good for a lounging experience with your pet. If you’re looking to protect them from the rough ground where they can veg, this is a good option. It’s not made for camping per se because it doesn’t enclose your pet, but it’s an excellent sun-safe option.

Features we love:

  • Pops up easy
  • Great ventilation
  • UPF 50+
  • Waterproof

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • Difficult to fold back up
  • Does not enclose
  • Not big enough for more than one pet
  • Need stakes to keep down because it’s very lightweight

WeeH Small Medium Pet House

3 stars- ★★★ Best overall value

Another fun little tent for your dog that comes in two colors with a removable pad for the bottom. Easy to clean and pops right up, making it a super convenient choice. It resembles an actual tent with its poles and mesh windows. The windows give it great ventilation, and it is waterproof.

Features we love:

  • Waterproof
  • Easy to set up
  • Includes removable pad

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • The tie-up and zippers can be potential choking hazards
  • Fiberglass poles can break and be hazardous
  • Small size for small pets only

CoolerDog Pup-Up Pop Up Dog Shade Tent Kennel

4 stars- ★★★★ Easiest pop-up and foldable tent

This “Pup-Up” shade blocks out 98% of harmful rays. Not only does the sun damage skin, but it can also easily cause our dogs to overheat. This tent is available in two sizes, making it adaptable for all dog types.

Features we love:

  • Instant pop up
  • 3 Screen windows allowing for cross ventilation
  • Has a shade

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • Needs stakes to stay put
  • Can get very warm with the shades and windows zipped

MYDEAL PRODUCTS Pop Up Dog Shelter - Weather Resistant

4 stars- ★★★★ Best tent for large dogs

This tent is excellent for all-purpose trips. Suppose you’re going to the park, the beach, your yard, or obviously camping. No assembly is needed, and it folds flat, making it easy to store and carry. It is also water-resistant for those bad weather days.

Features we love:

  • Pops up fast
  • No assembly needed
  • The frame is made for long term use
  • Can attach between car seats to be used as a pet barrier
  • Large spacing for all size pets

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • Lightweight – can blow away easily
  • Hard to fold back up
  • The zipper can be a potential choking hazard
  • Material is cheaply made

OUTING MAN Large Cat Tent Outdoor Playpen Pop Up

4 stars- ★★★★ Best tent for escape artists

If you’re looking for an enclosure, then this is a good option for you. It is not like the rest of the tents on the list that are minimal in size. We would say this is more of a playpen vs. a tent because it keeps the pets enclosed. It may not be ideal for super hot days, but it is excellent for pets who like to make a run for it.

Features we love:

  • Netting around makes pets able to see from all angles
  • Enclosed to avoid runaways
  • Easy assembly

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • Legs and frame can bend
  • Lightweight/flimsy with the wind
  • Material is poorly made, making it easy for pets to chew through

Pickle & Polly - Small to Medium Dog Bed Teepee/Tent for Dogs & Cats

3 stars- ★★★ Best design

If you’re looking for a tent that resembles an old school TeePee, then you’ve found it. This tent is better for indoor activities. Its design is not only eye-friendly but also has wooden poles made of pine, making it chemical-free. The interior comes with a pillow that provides fill material that retains its shape. It’s also extremely durable, so even the wildest of roughhousing won’t ruin it.

Features we love:

  • Its machine washable
  • Fits into your home decor with fashionable design
  • Chemical-free poles

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • Not great for outdoor activities
  • Small interior

Yolafe Dog Camping Tent Portable Pet Cave

5 stars- ★★★★★ Best Overall Tent

Yolafe’s Dog Camping Tent is the Cadillac of all tents. Calling it a pet cave is an accurate description of it. It’s super spacious, well ventilated, and made of sturdy thick material that can withstand heavy rainfall as well as pet scratches and bites. However, the roof is mesh, so an additional piece must be purchased to prevent water from getting in through the top.

Features we love:

  • The foolproof material its made from
  • Spacious
  • Easy to assemble
  • Comes with traveling bag
  • It can be closed for warmth but is still well ventilated

Features we aren’t crazy about:

  • The top is mesh so water can get inside

Our Favourite Product

It’s a pretty tough list with many variations, but since we are talking tents for camping, we have to go with the Yolafe Dog Camping Tent . It’s big, has excellent ventilation, and comes with a traveling bag. Its weather-friendly ventilation makes it a great asset on hot summer days, but its closure makes it great for cold nights as well.

Even though the top is meshed and you need another piece to cover it, we still find it the most versatile and best tent for a camping trip. Getting the extra piece is definitely worth it since this tent is overall a keeper. Coming in as a close second is the Outing man enclosure. Its broad frame and open sides make it a fantastic asset for your pets to stay safe and enjoy the outdoors.
