Advertising and sponsorship policy
Ads pay for free access. They don't buy coverage.
Display ads
Most pages show display ads served by our ad partner, Mediavine. We don't choose the individual ads, and seeing an ad here doesn't mean we endorse the product. You can read how ad cookies work in our cookie policy.
Sponsored content
- It's labeled "Sponsored by" with the sponsor's name at the top, plus a disclosure line.
- It's written by a named author with credentials. Never anonymous, never "staff".
- It carries no display ads, so the sponsor's page is about the sponsor's topic.
- It is never presented as editorial content, and our articles never mention a sponsor because they paid.
- Sponsors can check facts about their own product. They can't edit our articles.
Sponsorships
Sponsors can present the Daily Vet Quiz or a community survey. Their name appears as "Presented by". The content itself is chosen and checked by our team like everything else.
Affiliate links
Some articles end with a box called "Our picks". Its links are affiliate links: if you buy through them, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The box says so above the links. We only pick products our team would use or recommend to a colleague, a brand can't pay to be picked, and we never put affiliate links on medication, dosing, poisoning or emergency articles.
Our own products
I Love Veterinary also runs a shop for vet professionals and animal lovers. The store box at the end of an article links to it. Those links are ours, not paid placements.
What we don't accept
Ads or sponsorships for products without the approvals they legally need, unproven treatments presented as proven, and anything that tells pet owners to skip the vet.
